In the end of January 2010 30 participants finished a training course successfully to become a certificated National Park guide in Müritz National Park/ Germany.
All of them started the course (70 hours) in autumn 2009 learning more about landscape development, nature protection, communication, enviromental education and marketing. The first guides will start their tours during the upcoming season. Due to the positive feedback, a new course is planned for the next year. The training is part of a nationwide initiative to insure a standard level for guides in the countryside and protected areas in Germany and to promote the need for qualified staff for guided tours. The main objective is that all tourist guides in Müritz National Park will be trained and receive a certificate. Without this warranty, they are not permitted to guide guests in the National Park area in the future. In Müritz National Park each year about 40 guides or small enterprises apply for approval to guide visitors during the season for cycling, hiking, canoeing or horse riding activities. |
